Introducing well-being and mindfulness to children aged 3 – 12 and their teachers
We’re delighted to announce that we now have an agreement with Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) for them to offer The Present for Schools. Find out more and book your place.
The Present is a training for teachers and educational support staff working in schools with their own established mindfulness practice.
The Present Curriculum is a spiral, cumulative programme across all ages offered over 14 weeks. After 14 weeks it is available for ongoing implementation in the classroom, with children and teachers co-creating activities and materials.

The Present Approach focuses on weaving mindfulness into all aspects of the school day. It supports a way of being with self, others, school and everyday life activities growing mindful attitudes and awareness.
The programme has been developed by Sarah Silverton (mindfulness teacher, trainer and author), Tabitha Sawyer (primary school teacher and headteacher) and Dusana Dorjee (neuroscientist and author).
The materials support development of:
– metacognitive awareness
– attention regulation skills
– emotion regulation skills
– non-judgment and non-reactivity in relating to experience
– noticing and savouring positive experiences
– qualities of kindness and openness in relating to self and others.
The Present materials offer a shared exploration of seven themes:
– here and now
– focusing
– choosing
– connecting
– human body
– human mind
– noticing change
The learning is offered through:
– neuroscience stories
– suggested activities and practices
– connecting the theme to other learning
– everyday activities throughout the school day.
The emphasis is on how we do things rather than what we do and on experiential learning.
The Present incorporates the latest evidence from neuroscience, including new understandings of brain development from the ages of 3 – 11, and the impact of mindfulness and attention on emotion regulation.
We recognise the challenges and demands of the role primary school staff so The Present for Schools materials:
– are easily accessible for busy teachers.
– offer support to teaching staff, as well as to children.
– have a reduced need for additional time to be set aside for teaching.
The Present for Schools course and accompanying materials are available through the medium of Welsh.
We teach and train educators internationally.
